Meet Our Team

Dr. Danielle Ward

Dr. Danielle Ward joined the pracitice as a part time associate in 2009. She is a 1997 Graduate of The Ohio State University. She sees appointments on Saturdays and some weekdays. Her primary interest is in Small Animal Medicine with a special interest in Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome. She has two dogs - Miles and Keely. She enjoys Hiking, Jogging and Spending time with her family.

Nikki joined the clinic staff in October of 2006. She rapidly became Dr. Shannon's right hand. She is a 2006 graduate of Harkum College's Veterinary Technician Program. She has one dog - Kaede who also likes to come to work with her. Outside the clinic-- Nikki enjoys Geocaching, crochet, and reading. She also provides excellent pet sitting services to pets with medical conditions.

 


Roberta Draves, Bookkeeping

Roberta Joined the practice in October of 2008. She was quick to become more than just a receptionist and became the office manager. In Feb, 2011 she took a step back out of the office to spend more time with her family, but she remains a vital part of the practice helping to maintain the books with Dr. Shannon. She lives with her husband, son and daughter. She has two dogs -- Krissy and Siggy, and three cats -- Snuggles, Lou, and McNubbin . She enjoys baking, cooking, reading, and geocaching.

Cyndi is a long time client of the clinic. She joined our ranks at the front desk in 2009 as a part time receptionist. She has two daughters (both at Temple), a husband and two cats (Cricket and Buddy). Cyndi enjoys volunteering and helping at her church.

 


Mellissa_Smith.jpgMellissa Ligouri Smith, Head Receptionist

Mellissa is the daughter of a long time client who recently moved back to our area. She is a certified Pilates instructor when she is not working for us. She has done a wonderful job of filling the receptionist duties that Roberta left open in February. When not working here or teaching, she enjoys hanging with her family and friends and taking the family dog Bella for long walks.

 


Carolyn_Kottmeyer.jpgCarolyn and Mark Kottmeyer, IT Support and Reception

These two tag team so well with us. They both are wonderful at maintaining and keeping our computers running. They also pitch in as receptionists and after hours boarding care. They have two cats, Rumpleteaser and Coraline and two daughters (one in graduate school and one in high school (see Jess below)). When not helping us out at the clinic, Mark and Carolyn enjoy geocaching, cooking, playing music together (multiple instruments), and hanging out after hours with the rest of us.


Jessie Kottmeyer, Student Intern

Jessie is a high school Junior. She has been working with us learning job skills related to veterinary medicine. She is still considering her career choices but is interested in veterinary medicine and biology. She also has the same two cats as Mark and Carolyn. When not in school or here with us she enjoys reading, math, puzzles, and geocaching.

 


Margo Love, receptionist

Margo is our most recent addition. She is working with us on Fridays. She is very interested in Natural Health and Natural Healing and has her own business dealing in these areas on the human side. She is also introducing us to some of the newer natural health products available to dogs and cats. She has four cats -- Spencer, Charmin, Bitsy, and Willy. When not here or working on her business, she is an avid gardener and also enjoys reading and bargain hunting.
